This work reports the thermoluminescent properties of free standing polycry
stalline diamond grown by microwave assisted plasma CVD. A peak at 540 K is
shown particularly suitable for ionising radiation dosimetry.
Its properties (response to various radiations such as alpha, beta and prot
on particles or gamma photons, reproducibility, fading, etc.) are studied a
nd compared with those of two common thermoluminescent dosemeters (TLD 100
and TLD 500).
The observed characteristics make CVD diamond a potential dosemeter. (C) 20
