D. Armspach et al., The first Ru-II bipyridyl-capped cyclodextrin: Evidence of electron-transfer through the cavity, EUR J INORG, (6), 2000, pp. 1147-1150
The narrow rim of an alpha-cyclodextrin has been AD-capped with a photoacti
ve ruthenium(II) tris(2,2'-bipyridyl) fragment giving a diastereomeric mixt
ure of complexes that bind 1,4-benzoquinone in water. Steady-state and time
-resolved emission studies have been used to probe electron-transfer proces
ses occurring inside and outside the cavity.
