The decanter centrifuge has become the main processing tool in mechanical d ewatering of sludges, and centrifuge manufacturers have devoted considerabl e effort to achieving high cake dryness levels. In the first part of a two part series of articles, N Corner Walker, Alfa Laval, USA analyses the capa city scaling of the Dry Solids (DS) decanter.
