Geochemical characterization of oils of the West Siberia by the composition of alkylbenzenes

The authors studied individual composition of monoaromatic hydrocarbons fro m oils of the West Siberia found in Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoirs, n-A lkyl-, methylalkyl-, and ethylalkylbenzenes were identified among monoaroma tic hydrocarbons. It was demonstrated that the data on the composition of a lkylbenzenes, together with saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons-biomarkers, bear certain information on the biological sources and formation environme nt of oils.
