Abstract
HLA-B27 can adopt a homodimeric form. In spondyloarthritis, such aberrant e xpression of B27 may override a tissue-specific inhibition of major histoco mpatibility complex (MHC) class I-dependent events, leading to inflammation and fibrosis.
