Abstract
The spectroscopic literature reporting on the coupling between Fourier tran sform spectrometers and supersonic jet expansions is reviewed. Particular a ttention is devoted to high resolution infrared absorption experiments. Sho rt and much longer introductions are provided on Fourier transform spectrom eters and jets, respectively, with emphasis on the problems raised by coupl ing the two techniques. Details of the optical designs reported in the lite rature are considered. The literature on all the molecules studied is tabul ated. Some of the spectroscopic results are highlighted, in particular thos e obtained at Universite Libre de Bruxelles.
