Cj. Wormald et Md. Vine, Specific enthalpy increments for propan-2-ol at temperatures up to 563.2 Kand pressures up to 11.3 MPa, J CHEM THER, 32(5), 2000, pp. 659-669
Measurements of specific enthalpy increments for propan-2-ol are reported.
A countercurrent water-cooled flow calorimeter was used to measure 85 entha
lpy increments over the temperature range 423.2 K to 563.2 K at pressures f
rom 0.1 MPa up to 11.3 MPa. Extrapolation of the gas phase measurements to
zero pressure gave values in excellent agreement with pure component ideal
gas enthalpies calculated from spectroscopic data. Values of the specific e
nthalpy of vaporization derived from the measurements are in agreement with
other work and are well fitted by a modification of the Watson equation. A
method for the calculation of the two phase enthalpy-pressure envelope is
described. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
