Abstract
We describe a case of A1 segment occlusion caused by a tangled Guglielmi de tachable coil (GDC) during an endovascular treatment for a ruptured anterio r communicating aneurysm. Immediate surgical recanalisation of the occluded artery and clipping of the aneurysm rescued the patient. This case demonst rates that an emergency surgical team, as well as an operating room, should be available during any complicated intra-aneurysmal procedure, so that ti mely surgical intervention could be carried out without delay.
