Suppression of self-pulsing in Er-doped fibre lasers with electronic control

We propose a new method to suppress the self-pulsing behaviour occurring in heavily-doped erbium-fibre lasers. The method consists of an electronic fe edback on the pumping laser. It is theoretically demonstrated that this sim ple method efficiently stabilizes the output of the laser without changing the laser threshold and the laser efficiency.
