Vision in space

The influence of the conditions of space flight on the threshold characteri stics of the visual system is considered. The influence of the atmosphere a nd spacecraft windows on the possibility of visual observations and instrum ental recording from space is demonstrated. The methods for studying object s and formations in the atmosphere, cloud cover, and bodies of water and on the Earth's surface are discussed. (C) 2000 The Optical Society of America .
