The method of superposition of configurations is used to obtain accurate nb
initio energy levels for the '2p hole' states of CI II. The wavefunctions
are generated using the superposition-of-configurations code CIV3. Relativi
stic effects are introduced by means of the Breit-Pauli approximation. Exce
llent agreement with recently published experimental data is observed and v
alues are reported for levels which have not been determined experimentally
