Abstract
The scattering amplitude for a radially symmetric spin wave (azimuthal numb er m=0) on a vortex in an easy-plane ferromagnet is found by analytical and numerical calculations in the long-wavelength approximation (wave number m uch larger than the inverse size of the vortex core). It is found that the scattering amplitude of a radially symmetric spin wave is smaller than that for a translational mode (m = +/-1) with the same value of the wave number .
