M. Sharma et al., Synthesis and characterization of homo- and heterobimetallic triethanolaminates of Ca, Sr and Ba, MAIN GR MET, 23(5), 2000, pp. 285-289
The reactions of heavier alkaline earth metal alkoxides M(OPri), (M = Ca, S
r Ba) with two equivalents of triethanolamine lead to the formation of inso
luble products with the general formula, (H4M)-H-#{(OCH2CH2)(3)N}(2). These
insoluble products when treated with Al(OPri)(3) in 1:4 molar ratio afford
soluble heterobimetallic derivatives of the type {Al(OPri)(2)}(4){M[(OCH2C
H2)(3)N](2)}. All these derivatives have been characterized by elemental an
alysis, molecular weight measurements and spectroscopic [IR, NMR (H-1, C-13
, Al-27)] studies.
