Abstract
The HERA-B Inner Tracker system, which is built by groups from the universi ties of Heidelberg, Siegen and Zurich, consists of 184 detectors. The detec tors are composed of Microstrip Gas Chambers (MSGC) with a pre-amplifying d evice in the gas volume, the Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM). The complete sy stem of 140k analog and 10k trigger channels will be installed in HERA-B du ring this year. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
