Abstract
New non-collinear schemes are suggested for transverse velocity modulation of electron beams and for the generation of coherent spontaneous radiation by these transversely modulated beams. It is shown that due to the non-coll inearity some orders of magnitude enhancement can be achieved for the coher ent spontaneous radiation (CSR) power at both the Fundamental and harmonic frequencies.
