Bl. Sharma et al., EFFECT OF NITROGEN AND SEED RATE ON FODDER YIELD OF PEARLMILLET (PENNISETUM-GLAUCUM), Indian Journal of Agronomy, 41(4), 1996, pp. 595-597
The results of a 2-year (1988 and 1989) field experiment showed that a
pplication of 120 kg N/ha gave significantly higher forage yield by 34
.5% over no N in pearlmillet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br. emend. St
untz]. A seed rate of 12 kg/ha gave significantly higher forage yield
(60.13 tonnes/ha), which was at par with that obtained from 16 kg seed
rate/ha. Green-forage yield significantly reduced at 8 and 20 kg/ha s
eed rate.
