Abstract
We have measured the vortex diffusivity in thin superfluid helium films ads orbed on a gold substrate at temperatures front 0.35 to 2.0 K. A quartz mic robalance is operated at different frequencies and the diffusivity is extra cted from the observed shifts of the transitions. Effects of pre-plating of the substrate with hydrogen on the vortex diffusivity were observed. (C) 2 000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
