We present measurements of the magnetic relaxation of highly polarized liqu
id He-3 confined inside a silver sinter, from 40 mK to 1.15 K, and 2 to 27
bars. At low temperature, the relaxation rate decreases with increasing pol
arization, in qualitative agreement with the Hammel-Richardson model. In th
is framework, our results at low polarization imply that relaxation in the
first, solid, layer does not depend on pressure, but is more efficient as t
he temperature increases. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserve
