Abstract
We report on our new optical setup which employs multiple-beam interferomet
ry for measurements on He-3 crystals. Our interferometer enables us to obse
rve the global shape of the crystal as well as the fine details of the soli
d/liquid interface on a scale of less than 5 mu m. Phase measurement allows
accurate studies of growth and melting kinetics. We present the first imag
es of He-3 crystals obtained with this setup. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V
