Abstract
The temperature dependence of the DC susceptibility chi(T) is measured betw een 1.7 and 350 K on superconducting and non-superconducting bulk melt-proc essed (Nd0.33Eu0.33Gd0.33)Ba2Cu3 O-y by means of SQUID magnetometry. A stro ng superconducting contribution is found to coexist with large paramagnetic moments provided by the Nd and Gd ions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
