The kappa-(BEDT-TTF)(2)Cu[N(CN)(2)]Br salts were synthesized from nondeuter
ated, partially, and fully deuterated BEDT-TTF molecules. The electrical re
sistance of these salts was examined systematically as functions of tempera
ture and cooling rate, and found to change from metallic to insulating beha
viors by the progressive deuterations and increasing the cooling rate. This
means the active control of. the correlation effect of electrons in this f
amily. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
