We present the design of the guide system for the new time-of-flight spectr
ometer at the cold source of the new neutron source FRM-II. Using Monte-Car
lo (MC) techniques we optimized the guide system with respect to maximal fl
ux at the sample position, low background of fast neutrons and high-energy
