Abstract
We have applied a microanalysis technique on micrograin samples in order to directly identify the 23 K superconducting phase in the Y-Pd-B-C system. T hrough the physical and structural characterization of such micrograins we have found the tetragonal YPd2B2Cx phase with a space group I4 / mmm and la ttice parameters a = 0.371 nm and c = 1.08 nm to be the responsible phase f or the 23 K superconducting transition in this system.
