Abstract
Rb-ion-modified V2O5/SiO2 (Rb-VS) was found to be an effective catalyst for photoassisted selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3 in the pr esence of oxygen at room temperature. V2O5/SiO2 and SiO2 did not promote th e reaction either in the dark or with irradiation. The reaction mechanism o ver irradiated Rb-VS is different from the conventional NO SCR with ammonia . NOx is firstly adsorbed over irradiated Rb-VS in the presence of O-2, fol lowed by adsorption of NH3.
