We first calculate the binding energy and the pionic and electromagnetic co
upling constants of the lowest-lying p-wave heavy baryon doublet Lambda(c1)
, Lambda(c1)* in the leading order of heavy quark expansion. Then we calcul
ate the two-body decay widths with these couplings and compare our results
with other approaches. Our results are Gamma(Lambda(c1)-->Sigma(c)pi, Sigma
(c)gamma, Sigma(c)*gamma) = 2.7, 0.011, 0.001 Mev and Gamma (Lambda(c1)* --
> Sigma(c)pi, Sigma(c)gamma, Sigma(c)*gamma, Lambda(c1)gamma) = 33,5,6,0.01
4 keV, respectively. We find that Lambda(c1),Lambda(c1)*-->Lambda(c)gamma i
s strictly forbidden in the leading order of heavy quark expansion. At the
order of O(1/m(c)) their widths are 36 and 48 keV, respectively.
