Abstract
Two methods have been developed for the separation of contributions from tw o different nuclides in an autoradiography picture. Both approaches, a modi fied least squares (LS) and a maximum likelihood (ML) algorithm, are based on the position and energy information available from a digital detector. T ests and comparisons, using artificially as well as measured data, demonstr ate that the ML approach performs slightly better, but is much more computa tionally demanding than the LS method.
