Abstract
A multiwavelet can possesses the properties of orthogonality, symmetry, and compact support simultaneously which is impossible for scaler wavelets. A method to determine the multiwavelets From a class of multi-scaling functio ns is presented using the genetic algorithm, which not only makes the guide line to find multiwavelets clearly and simplely, but also lays a foundation for the application of multiwavelets theory.
