Abstract
An economical and accurate technique for isolating and measuring total stan dard and urinary catecholamine levels using manually packed cation exchange liquid chromatography with UV spectrophotometric detection has been develo ped. With the costs of scientific investigation escalating, it is imperativ e to keep methods and instrumentation accurate, yet expenditure and personn el training to a minimum. It has been demonstrated that through careful rea gent measurement and pH monitoring, stringent adherence to a simple chromat ography protocol produces accurate and reliable data for the fraction of co st of other suitable methods.
