Abstract
A Lewis acid-catalyzed, regiospecific opening of vinyl epoxides to P-hydrox y allyl-ethers was performed using equimolar quantities of both alcohols an d oxiranes. BF3.Et2O proved to be the most efficient catalyst for various s ubstituted alcohols. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
