Abstract
The hydroxyl and aldehyde groups of 2-hydroxybenzaldehydes were protected b y the reaction with Fischer's base and deprotected by the ozonolysis in met hanol at -78 degrees C to give the corresponding 2-hydroxybenzaldehydes in good to high yields. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
