Abstract
Zinc-nickel alloy coating having 8-10% nickel has been deposited from a con ventional non-cyanide alkaline inc plating bath containing Zn, NaOH, and pr oprietary addition agents. The alloying element nickel, is added to the bat h with a weak complexing agent. The influence of the plating bath and proce ss variables such as temperature, agitation and current density on sine-nic kel alloy deposition have been studied in detail The deposit characteristic s and corrosion resistance of Zn-Ni alloy coating are evaluated and compare d,with conventional alkaline inc Zinc-nickel alloy accepts all conventional chromate conversion coatings with minor modifications in composition, pH a nd time.
