PREPARATION OF AMMONIUM URANATE IN THE RECOVERY TREATMENT OF NON-FISSIONED URANIUM

A number of ammonium uranates have been obtained, all of them differen t in their X-ray diffraction patterns. This contribution attempts to d emonstrate that different series of compounds can be produced dependin g on the preparation method. The ammonium uranates were precipitated f rom solutions of uranyl nitrate using gaseous ammonium to determine th e effect of precipitation pH on their composition and morphology.
