Opinions on the mathematical activity of Janos Bolyai

This paper presents the opinion of some well-known and worldwide appreciate d Romanian mathematicians on the role of Janos Bolyai's activity, how it ch anged and influenced the way of thinking in mathematics, the mathematical o utlook and the further development of the axiomatic method. The activity in this field of academician Gheorghe Calugareanu (1902-1976), academician Me ndel Haimovici (1906-1973), academician Alexandru Myller (1879-1965), Simio n Stoilow (1887-1961), academician Gheorghe Vranceanu (1900-1979) and of ot her well-known Romanian mathematicians is presented.
