Abstract
The cubic nonlinear refraction index n(2) and the nonlinear absorption coef ficient beta of several new ruthenium complexes ar 460 nm are measured by Z -scan technique and the third-order nonlinear susceptibility chi((3)) of th e samples are calculated. The effects of molecular structures on the third- order nonlinear optical properties are discussed.
