Abstract
The case of a woman with a diagnosis of dementia whose laboratory tests rev
ealed megaloblastic anemia and hypocalcemia, due to a post-gastrectomy mala
bsorbtion syndrome is described. The evaluation of a cognitive impairment s
hould always include a complete clinical examination.
