Abstract
The average velocity gradient was measured by means of microelectrodes embedded in a non-conducting wall of a packed bed reactor with single phase liquid flow. We showed that these experimental results could be correctly predicted by the hydrodynamic model developed by Vortmeyer and Schuster for the evaluation of steady flow profiles in circular pa cked beds.
