Abstract
Freebase- and metallated-tetrapyridylporphyrins self-organize through multi ple hydrogen bonding to carboxylic acid terminated self-assembled monolayer s on gold surfaces, thereby producing surfaces with two additional function al sites, the porphyrin cavity and the terminal pyridyl groups.
