Abstract
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is now commonly used to evaluate the thoracic aorta, because it is widely available and provides high-resolutio n images and flow information by Doppler. This article reviews the essentia l features on TEE of acute and chronic aortic diseases, such as aortic diss ection, aneurysm, and atherosclerosis, and discusses its strengths, weaknes ses, and indications.
