Abstract
A technique is proposed for recording holographic optical elements (HO Es) on metallic mirror substrates. An analysis is given of the conditi ons for recording them, for forming and coating photosensitive materia ls on these surfaces; and for protecting them from chemically aggressi ve processing of the photographic layers. The methods developed here h ave been used to obtain experimental samples of HOEs on copper substra tes for adaptive laser systems. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of Americ a.
