This paper discusses the possibility of using a XeCl excimer laser wit
h a wavelength of lambda = 308 nm for contact copying of holograms on
silver halide photographic plates. It shows that the sensitivity incre
ases and the optimum exposure level drops off by an order of magnitude
by comparison with recording in the visible range. The studies showed
that it is promising to use the UV radiation of a XeCl excimer laser
in holography. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of America.
