Abstract
A block-oriented process simulation system has been developed for solids pr
ocessing applications. The specific requirements which have to be fulfilled
for the description of processes with particulate solids are outlined and
their implications for design and implementation of a simulator are discuss
ed. The prototype simulator SolidSim is presented and its features are demo
nstrated by soil-washing and gravel processing applications. (C) 2000 Elsev
