Abstract
The principles of Darwinian evolution have been explored in molecular syste ms such as autocatalytic networks and dynamic combinatorial libraries. Mole cular evolution in such systems manifests itself as ligand or receptor ampl ification by selection. Research efforts exploring these concepts may provi de a mechanism far the identification of novel catalysts, molecular recepto rs and bioactive molecules.
