Abstract
The modified BCR three-step sequential extraction scheme has been applied t o cadmium, copper, chromium, nickel, lead and zinc determination in sedimen ts from lake Flumendosa, once validated with sediments certified reference materials (BCR CRM 601). Whereas cadmium and lead have revealed as the most mobile elements (total extractable amounts from 60 to 98 %) with the lowes t residual fraction, chromium and nickel remained in the residue and they c an be considered as not mobile elements.
