Abstract
The plot of detection thresholds vs. time for a forward-masked Gaussian-sha ped 2 kHz Dip (S.D. = 0.5 ms) shows a noisy 'fine structure' that disappear s with across-subject averaging. The averaging uncovers a slower threshold periodicity, that can be predicted From the output power of the auditory fi lter during extended ringing. (C) 2090 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res erved.
