Abstract
This study demonstrates that significant reproducibility problems can occur during routine use of the Abbott Laboratories LCx assay for Chlamydia trac homatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. These problems ran go undetected by the quality control procedures outlined in the manufacturer's package insert. W e outline here procedures for detecting and preventing contamination and re producibility problems.
