Abstract
Uterine artery embolisation is a well-known technique for the treatment of acute pelvic haemorrhage. It has been developed for myomata in order to tre at the lesion and improve symptoms. Precise and careful techniques of cathe terisation allow adequate devascularisation using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) p articles. Adequate medical preparation prior to the procedure and post-proc edural major analgesic therapy are mandatory.
