Abstract
Ion implantation (single or sequential) and ion irradiation of metal-doped matrices can be used to prepare metal nanocluster composite glasses. Some e xperiments are reviewed pointing out the effectiveness of these methods for controlled nanoparticle formation in silicate glasses. (C) 2000 Elsevier S cience B.V. All rights reserved.
