Pressure effects on heat capacity of a heavy fermion compound YbAs

Heat capacity measurements have been carried out on a heavy fermion compoun d YbAs down to 0.2 K under pressure up to 5 kbar. A sharp peak due to the a ntiferromagnetic transition is observed at 0.51 K at ambient pressure. As p ressure increases, the peak shifts slightly to higher temperatures with a d ecreasing of its height. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved .
