Heavy-fermion compound CeAl2 has a Kondo temperature T-K of 5 K and a Neel
temperature T-N of 3.8 K. As the dimensions of specimen decrease, the size
effect was shown as the suppression of Tli and the magnitude of antiferroma
gnetic anomaly in specific heat. For 80 Angstrom nanoparticles the magnitud
e of gamma extrapolates to 9500 mJ/K-2 mole at absolute zero, whose value f
alls in the highest range ever reported for heavy-fermion systems. (C) 2000
