The results of conduction electron spin resonance of 2D electrons in Si/SiG
e show that many-body electron-electron interactions strongly reduce the sp
in relaxation. They cause also a peculiar anisotropy of local dipole fields
. We interprete these findings in terms of spin dependent e-e correlation t
hat can lead to a spatial separation of the 2D electron layer into two shee
ts of magnetically polarized electrons. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All
